The Korsteel French Link Training Snaffle is a very mild, 'horse-friendly' bit! It is a great bit for everyday use, and a great bit for green horses! Available in 'big-horse' sizes! The mouthpiece of the French Link Training Snaffle by Korsteel features mild, thick outer pieces that taper towards the central contoured French Link. This allows the horse to have more space and comfort with the bit over his tongue. As with all double jointed snaffles, the mouthpiece 'drapes' over the tongue and the bars of the horse's mouth more than the single-jointed bits. This allows their action to be milder, as the pressure is spread more evenly. The other advantage is that there is no worry about the bit hinging and potentially bumping the horse in the palette, as is possible with most single-jointed bits. The French Link has the signature contours and 'waist'- the shape does not put a ridge of pressure into the tongue as a Dr. Bristol might, or give an even pressure, like the oval link. It minimizes any pressure at all. This, along with the smaller circumference of the outer sections of the mouthpiece, give extra room for the tongue. The outer sections of the mouthpiece are quite wide where they sit on the bars of the mouth, adding to the comfort and mild nature of the bit. The loose rings provide a feeling of increased freedom and 'play' that many horses enjoy. The Korsteel French Link Training Snaffle is made from hand-polished stainless steel. It is durable and easy to clean and maintain. Non-corrosive.
