The Korsteel Soft Rubber Mouth Dee Snaffle is a great bit for the sensitive and fussy horse that seems to have an aversion to metal, or wants a milder bit than metal can provide. There is a solid stainless steel 'skeleton' under the soft rubber mouthpiece that gives the bit structural integrity. The soft rubber coating is 'spongy' and has more 'give' when it is squeezed over the hard rubber mouth option. This is a feeling that some horses will enjoy. The coating must be checked regularly for damage from the horse's teeth, but many sensitive horses will appreciate this very mild bit. The rubber is non-toxic and safe for the horse's mouth. The mouthpiece is fixed to the Dee Rings of the bit, preventing the possibility of the bit rotating in the horse's mouth, or from the bit being pulled through the horse's mouth. The fixed nature of the bit can encourage a horse that wants to be a little 'behind the feel', or contact, to take a contact. The stainless steel outer rings are easy to clean and maintain. The rubber should be inspected before and after every ride to monitor any damage that might occur from the horse's teeth. The stainless steel is very durable and non-corrosive.
